Fiesta del Sol is Proud to be “Going Green”— New Recycling Project Initiated by Festival’s Long Time Sponsor, Coca-Cola Enterprises.
Chicago, IL—July 13, 2009— Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc and Pilsen Neighbors Community Council (PNCC) are partnering this summer in a recycling project taking place during Fiesta del Sol in Chicago. Fiesta del Sol is excited to announce it’s environmental-friendly transition and it’s participation with Coca-Cola Enterprises on a first of it’s kind recycling initiative.
Coca-Cola Enterprises’ sponsorship of Fiesta del Sol dates back over 30 years and this year, they will become the official Recycler of Fiesta del Sol, sponsoring Pilsen teens to gather and recycle plastic bottles and cans. Two dozen recycling bins will be placed along a stretch of Cermak Road that will then be collected, sorted and weighed for Fiesta del Sol’s first ever plastic bottle and can recycling project.
In its long-standing relationship with Fiesta del Sol, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc has also awarded numerous scholarships to students from Pilsen, Little Village and the South West Side of Chicago.
